Rob Griffin joins with Team Bubbletech

A young Pro-driver joins this series with Team Bubbletech. We catched him and got to ask him a few questions.

GGTC: "You will be the driver of the Team Bubbletech BMW M4 GTM. (Picture on the left). Your decision entering this Championship came quiet late, after the third round to be exact. What lead to your decision joining this series?"

Rob: "Well to be honest, joining the series was something that I had wanted to do as soon as I was able. Of course the obstacle holding me back was the injuries sustained whilst quad biking. I felt that I really shouldn't participate until I knew that I was ready and that the doctors agreed. Now is that time. I guess the positive to it is that I have a longer pre-season, but it also means I lack the experience that would have developed from the races that I missed."

GGTC: "You missed 4 races in total. Or 1000km race distance. We had one pre season race and 3 season races where you could have won points. It will be difficult now to get to the top of the classifications, but do you think you could reach a top place or podium next round at brands hatch?"

Rob: "Of course that is the sort of thing I want to be aiming for but at the same time, I know that it is important to keep my feet on the ground as it were. I've done a bit of practising and the car feels good so the hope is that I am competitive, and then I guess we go from there. For me the worst bit is the unknown, I have no idea of how quick the other drivers are on Brands Hatch but I'm just trying to focus on me and being as quick as possible. So, of course I can hope to be up there, but I think it's more important to stay competitive and learn the other drivers and other cars."

GGTC: "Talking about your car. You first joined with an Ferrari 458 Italia GTM, but you decided to change over to a german Manufacturer, the BMW M4 GTM. All cars are from the performance point of view are the same. So ehat lead to your decision of changing the car?"

Rob: "It was really a case of suiting my driving style. As I previously mentioned, I spent a lot of time in testing and was really able to learn the Ferrari and it's traits, but after trying the BMW is was able simple choice. My lap times weren't necessary faster but the Beemer is a much more reliable car, cheaper for replacement parts but also a very different drive. I felt as though this was a change I needed to make for the series, and I guess we will see if it pays off."

GGTC: "We will see how this turns out, this evening at the 4th round of the Global GT Championship, sponsored by the GT6 Drivers Drifters and Gifters. Thank you Tob for taking your time and we wish you good luck for this evening's race!"

Rob: "Thank you."

We will be excited to see how he manages this race, this evening at the famously known Brands Hatch Circuit in the UK.

Let's get the engines started!
